Garden Cleanups

A full reset for a yard that's been left for a while.

Tidied garden bed and cleared lawn after a garden cleanup

A cleanup is a bigger job than a mow. It's for the yard that's had a few months of leaves pile up, beds full of weeds, grass over the edges and a general build-up of green waste.

Cleanups are quoted individually, because no two neglected yards are the same. We'd rather look at it (or at your photos) and give you a real number than throw out a guess.

What a cleanup usually covers

  • Leaf removal from lawn, beds, paths and driveways
  • Cutting down overgrown grass and long weeds
  • Weeding and tidying garden beds back to their borders
  • Trimming back growth that's spilling over paths and fences
  • Removing accumulated green waste and prunings
  • A final blow-down and tidy so the place is clean when we leave

Green waste

Cleanups generate far more waste than a green bin holds. Depending on the volume, we'll either fill the bins over a couple of visits or price removal into the job. Either way it's agreed before we start, not added afterwards.

Common reasons people book one

  • End of a tenancy or before a rental inspection
  • Getting a property ready to list or photograph
  • Coming back from an extended trip
  • Helping out a family member who can't manage the yard anymore
  • A spring or autumn reset before going onto a regular mowing schedule

What we don't do

A cleanup isn't landscaping. We don't do turf laying, retaining walls, paving, tree felling or large stump removal. If a job needs one of those, we'll tell you straight rather than take it on.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a garden cleanup take?
Anything from a couple of hours to a full day depending on the size of the yard and how much waste there is. We'll give you a realistic idea when we quote.
Do you take the green waste away?
It depends on the job. Small amounts go in your green bin; larger volumes are quoted as removal. We confirm which one applies before starting.
Can you do a cleanup and then keep it maintained?
That's the most common way people do it — a one-off reset, then a regular mowing visit so it never gets back to that point.
