Regular maintenance

Regular Lawn & Garden Maintenance

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly lawn mowing, plus recurring garden and hedge care — so the yard stays on top of itself instead of becoming a job.

A lawn kept on a fortnightly maintenance schedule, freshly mown with clean edges

Most of the properties we look after around Hallam, Berwick, Harkaway, Narre Warren and Hampton Park are on some kind of regular schedule. It's cheaper and easier than letting a lawn get away and paying for a rescue cut later — and you stop having to think about it.

Weekly lawn mowing

Useful when the lawn is growing quickly and you want the property looking consistently maintained. Regular cuts keep growth manageable, edges stay clean week to week, and the lawn is far less likely to get away from you and end up needing an overgrown cleanup.

  • Consistent height and appearance
  • Clean edges every visit
  • Growth stays manageable through peak season

Fortnightly lawn mowing

This suits a lot of residential properties, though not every lawn. Whether fortnightly works for yours depends on grass type, season, weather, growth rate, the conditions on the property and how sharp you want it looking between visits.

  • A common rhythm for suburban front and back lawns
  • Works well through much of the year
  • We'll say if your lawn really needs a shorter gap

Monthly lawn mowing

A monthly visit can be practical where growth is slower, or where the appearance you're after doesn't require frequent cutting. Frequency always comes back to the property — we'd rather tell you monthly won't hold up than book it and have you disappointed.

  • Suits slower growth and cooler months
  • Keeps a basic tidy standard
  • Easy to step up to fortnightly in spring

Garden maintenance — monthly or every 3 months

A recurring garden visit keeps beds and borders under control instead of letting them build up into a full cleanup. Depending on the property, a visit may include weed removal, garden-bed clearing, leaf and debris removal, general tidy-up, hedge and bush shaping, or seasonal cleanup work. The exact scope is agreed when we quote.

Hedge & bush maintenance

How often hedges and shrubs need shaping depends on the plant and how fast it grows. Many hedges and shrubs benefit from shaping roughly every 6–12 weeks during active growth, but that's a guideline rather than a rule — warmer months and vigorous species usually need more frequent attention. We'll recommend a practical schedule once we've seen what you have.

How it works

1. Request a quote

Send your address and a few details or photos.

2. We assess the property

We look at size, condition, access and growth.

3. Choose a practical schedule

Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or a garden visit.

4. We maintain it regularly

We turn up on the agreed rhythm and keep it there.

Not sure what schedule you need?

Every property is different. Grass type, weather, shade, growth rate, the state of the garden beds and how sharp you want it looking all change the answer. You don't have to work it out — we'll look at the property and tell you honestly what we'd recommend, and what we wouldn't.

Need the garden kept under control too? Our garden services cover cleanups, bed clearing, mulching and hedge shaping, and the seasonal lawn care guide explains how growth shifts through the Melbourne year.

Maintenance questions

How often should my lawn be mowed?
It depends on the grass type, the season, how much sun and shade the lawn gets, and how tidy you want it kept. Many homes sit on fortnightly through the warmer months and stretch out in winter. We'll suggest a practical schedule after we've seen the property.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. A schedule is just an agreed rhythm — you can change the frequency, skip a visit or stop any time.
How often do hedges and shrubs need shaping?
As a general guide, many hedges and shrubs benefit from shaping roughly every 6–12 weeks during active growth, but it varies a lot by plant type and the look you want. Warmer months and fast-growing species usually need it more often.
Do I need to be home?
Not usually, as long as we have access to the areas being maintained and any gates are unlocked.
