Lawn Mowing Services

Front and back lawns mowed, edged and tidied — either on a regular visit or as a one-off cut.

Mower cutting a green residential lawn in a south-east Melbourne backyard

Mowing is the bulk of what we do. Most of our work is straightforward residential lawns — front yard, back yard, nature strip where it's needed — done on a schedule that keeps the grass at a sensible length instead of letting it get away.

Every mow includes edging and a tidy finish. We don't leave clippings across the driveway, the path or the pool surrounds.

Regular mowing vs one-off mowing

A regular visit — weekly, fortnightly or monthly — is the cheaper way to keep a lawn under control, because the grass never gets long enough to become a big job. Fortnightly suits most homes for most of the year, with weekly making sense through the spring growth peak and monthly working over the slower winter months.

One-off mows are completely fine too. People book them before a rental inspection, before an open home, after a holiday, or when they've simply run out of weekends. There's no obligation to sign up to anything afterwards.

What happens during a mowing visit

  • Quick walk of the yard to check for hidden hazards — hoses, toys, pet waste, sprinkler heads, dog bones.
  • Mow at a height suited to your grass type and the season, rather than the same setting all year.
  • Line trim around fences, trees, garden beds, clotheslines and anything the mower can't reach.
  • Edge along driveways, paths and beds for a clean line.
  • Blow down hard surfaces so the driveway and paths are left clean.

Grass clippings and green waste

On a normal mow, clippings usually go into your green bin. If the lawn has been left longer than usual there can be more waste than the bin will take, in which case we'll talk to you about removal and price it separately rather than surprising you afterwards.

Properties we mow

  • Standard suburban front and back yards
  • Townhouses and units with smaller courtyard lawns
  • Rental properties, including one-off tidy-ups between tenants
  • Larger residential blocks that can still be done with walk-behind mowers

When a lawn is too long for a normal mow

There's a point where grass is long enough that a standard mow won't do it — the mower bogs, the clippings mat the lawn, and what's underneath can be a mess. That's a different job with a different price. We cover that on our overgrown lawn mowing page.

Getting a mowing quote

Tell us the suburb, roughly how big the lawn is, and how long it's been since the last cut. Photos help a lot — you can attach up to three to the quote form. We'll come back with a price, and if we need to see it in person before quoting, we'll say so.

Frequently asked questions

How often should my lawn be mowed?
Through spring and early summer most Melbourne lawns want a cut every one to two weeks. Growth slows through late autumn and winter, when monthly is often enough. The general rule is not to remove more than about a third of the leaf in one cut.
Do you mow nature strips?
Yes. Just mention it when you request a quote so it's priced in with the rest of the lawn.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can get to the lawn. If the back gate is locked, leave it unlocked on the day or let us know the access arrangement.
How much does lawn mowing cost?
There's no single price. It depends on lawn size, how long the grass is, whether edging and green waste removal are included, and how easy the yard is to access. You'll get a quote before anything starts.
