Hedge Trimming
Hedges and shrubs brought back into shape, with the clippings cleared up after.

Most residential hedges want trimming a couple of times a year to hold their shape — more often for fast growers. Left too long they thicken at the top, shade out the bottom, and go bare where you don't want them to.
We trim to a clean line, take the sides in as well as the top so light still reaches the lower growth, and clear the clippings before we leave.
What's included
- Trimming the top and both sides to an even line
- Shaping shrubs and smaller ornamentals
- Cutting hedges back off paths, driveways and fences
- Raking and blowing up the clippings
What sits outside a normal hedge trim
Some jobs need more than a trim, and we'll flag them rather than take them on. Hard renovation pruning of a very overgrown hedge back into old wood is a bigger call and can leave it bare for a season. Anything requiring work at height, tree lopping, or removal of a hedge and its root system is outside what we do.
When to trim
For most common hedging plants around Melbourne, a light trim in late spring and again in late summer or early autumn keeps them tidy without stressing them. If yours has been left for longer, we'll take it back in stages rather than cut it back hard in one go.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you take the hedge clippings away?
- Small trims go in the green bin. Bigger jobs produce more than a bin holds, so removal is quoted with the job.
- How high can you trim?
- We work at ground level with standard equipment. Very tall hedges that need elevated access aren't something we take on.
- Can hedge trimming be added to my regular mow?
- Yes — a lot of customers add a trim a couple of times a year onto a mowing visit. Just ask when you book.
